In Memory of Mr. John Gliege
(August 3, 1948 - February 21, 2010)

After a short battle with pancreatic cancer, Mr. John G. Gliege, 61, passed away with his family by his side, on February 21, 2010 at his home in Kendrick Park near Flagstaff , Arizona.

John, one of the owner of Art of Dance, had crazy obsession for dancing.  He would commute between Phoenix and Flagstaff three hours each way almost every day of the week to take dance lessons and to practice.  He’d be gladly taken on the drive.  If there is a World Guinness Record for the most miles driven for dancing, John would have won it hands down.

John had been to many places; experienced many things; perhaps he knew how short life was so he lived every moment of his.  He loved dancing and loved dancing with quality even more.  In his, what he’d refer to as, “dancing career”; He learned International Standard style of dances under his favorite coach Jenell Maranto; he went and competed in many competitions and performed many routines in: lederhosen; with his Guitar; and in his favorite all white tux and tails; he attended Vienna’s annual Opera Ball and danced Viennese Waltz in his tails under the grand chandeliers with music performed by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.  He helped found the USA Dance Flagstaff Chapter.  He danced in his hospital attire with his friends in Flagstaff on the walking bridge of the Flagstaff Hospital.  He loved all of it.

What John loved more than life was his friends; and I know it would make him proud to know all of you  keep dancing and cherishing life.
